Serco and Stromma selected for new contract to operate new Stockholm ferry line
Serco, the international provider of services to governments, and our partners Strömma Turism & Sjöfart AB have been selected for a new contract, for a minimum two years extendable to four years, by Stockholm Regional Transport Authority to operate the new Line 84 ferry service. The new service, which will run between Strömkajen in Stockholm City and Ålstäket in Värmdö municipality, is due to start in April 2024 and will be managed by the company Djurgårdens Färjetrafik AB (DFAB).
DFAB, which is jointly owned by Serco and Strömma, already operates Line 82, the Djurgårdsfärjorna ferries, between Slussen, Skeppsholmen and Djurgården. This current service transports more than two million passengers in Stockholm every year and achieves a very high customer satisfaction of 98%. Serco and Strömma first won the contract to operate the Djurgårdsfärjorna ferries in 2013 with the contract re-awarded in 2022.
